Fioricet is effective in treating a wide range of acute and chronic pain states - migraines, tension headaches or debilitating rheumatoid arthritis.

It also may be used to treat pain caused by surgery and chronic conditions such as cancer, joint pain, fibromyalgia and arthritis. The pain relief induced by analgesics such as Fioricet occurs either by blocking pain signals going to the brain or by interfering with the brain's interpretation of the signals, without producing anesthesia or loss of consciousness.
